Interview with DC Jensen: The Creator, Connector, and Cannabis Visionary
By KBR
In a world where creative identities are often boxed into one role, DC Jensen breaks every mold. A cannabis influencer, entrepreneur, and artist, Jensen doesn’t just wear many hats—he redesigns them. From launching FlatGroundsCoffee to creating compelling cannabis content and collaborating with brands, DC Jensen is living proof that artistry isn’t confined to one medium. It’s a mindset. And for Jensen, everything—from growing plants to designing logos—is art.

While many know DC Jensen through his presence in the cannabis space, he pushes back on surface-level labels. “Even when you're a cannabis influencer—you’re also an artist,” he says. Jensen has been immersed in cannabis culture since 2014, long before strain names were mainstream. He recalls the early days of calling good weed simply “fire,” a nostalgic nod to a time when the culture felt more underground and intuitive. Now, with years of hands-on experience in growing, inventory, production, and trimming, he’s not just talking about the industry—he’s building it from the inside out.
A graphic designer with a sharp marketing background, Jensen brings precision and emotion to every visual he creates. His knowledge of logo design is both a craft and a calling, and he sees it as a key focus for his future growth. “Colors invoke feelings,” he notes. “And if your thumbnails don’t hit the eye, no one’s clicking.” For Jensen, content creation isn’t just a job—it’s a multi-sensory experience powered by what he calls “weaponized ADHD,” a talent for hyperfocus that allows him to jump between projects with intense creative energy.
Whether he's writing podcast scripts, auditioning for animation voiceovers, or collaborating with chefs and artists, Jensen thrives in multidimensional expression. “Once you've done something creative, it's really easy to add on another creative thing… because it's art. I think everything is art.” His recent fascination with optical illusions adds a surreal and experimental layer to his growing repertoire—further blurring the lines between what’s visual, conceptual, and immersive.

A core part of Jensen’s identity is his connection to others. He believes deeply in people—how they work, what they love, and what they create. “You’re going to find your people. Just show who you are,” he says. It’s why collaboration sits high on his list of goals. Whether through interviews, partnerships, or spontaneous ideas shared at cannabis events, Jensen sees conversation as a creative tool just as vital as design software or grow lights.

But he’s also realistic about the challenges. One of the biggest he sees in the cannabis community? Budtender education. "It’s so important that budtenders are knowledgeable about the products they’re giving to customers,” he says. That mission inspired his current project: The Budtender’s Strain Guide Book—a resource meant to bridge the gap between cultivation and customer, elevating the entire experience through better information.
Jensen is passionate about showing that all creative expressions—music, photography, design, cannabis—are part of the same artistic spectrum. “Music literally has colors too,” he says. “Composition applies in photo, video, music, dance—literally everything.” For Jensen, art isn’t limited by tools or titles. It’s about how you see the world—and how you help others see it differently too.
In a time where niches rule the algorithm, DC Jensen dares to be everything he is—and more. He’s not just a cannabis influencer. He’s not just a graphic designer. He’s a builder of culture, a connector of people, and a visionary in progress. As he puts it best, “This is how I influence my community. This is how I influence the world.”
